I love comparing film and digital shots. All variables here have not been perfectly isolated, but it is interesting and fun all the same. For each pair, the top image is film, the bottom is digital. The film is most likely Fuji Velvia 100 or Kodak Ektachrome E100 VS, as those are what I was using this spring. I find I prefer the film shot for almost all of these, which is surprising to me since the digital is so smooth and real. What do you prefer?

The Cupcake Construction Company just opened about two weeks ago here in downtown Lawrence on Mass. Street. The idea is basically "build your own cupcake"...what a profound idea right? Why didn't I think of that?! For about the same price as an ice cream cone, you can choose your cake, frosting, filling, and a variety of toppings to cover the frosting. You can see our chocolate, peanut butter, chocolate infused, oreo topped creation in the making below! I'm looking forward to going back to try the other flavors like coconut, peanut butter and jelly, smores, red velvet, and lots more! If you are here in Lawrence, you simply must give it a shot, or two!

I love the girl captivated in the doorway in the first shot, and then the last shot. I can't believe I almost didn't take it in front of the cones that happened to be a few yards away on the sidewalk outside. I told Andy, oh lets wait until we're past all this mess...WAIT A MINUTE!! duh!

Sarah Ann Loreth is moving, and clearly, she's going to need a new mattress for her nice new place. I mean, have you see this thing?

But in all seriousness, you should check out this amazing photographer's shop. She has to move from her current home and it's going to be an expensive move, so go look at her stuff. You are sure to find something you can't live without, and that will help her pay some of her moving expenses!

Master of mood and lady of levitation, her concepts are always absolute standouts and things you never could have thought of, but dang you wish you did. Poetry and literary references are sprinkled about her photostream. Many of her images are just plain pretty. She's been known to glue things to her body, and inflict bodily harm on herself for the sake of her art. She's also a total sweetheart. Whatever draws you into her stream will keep you entranced as she's got such a strong consistent ability to make stunning, haunting, and captivating images that keep you looking forward to whatever she'll post next.
